We exist to make a positive difference – to the working lives of our members and ultimately to standards in patient care. Our employees are drawn from many walks of life – we are nurses, marketers and communicators, administrators, IT professionals, policy and finance experts, lawyers… together we are so much more. We couldn’t do what we do without our people.
We're accredited with Investors in People Silver Standard. Our people are our greatest asset, and we want people who can contribute to our purpose in line with our values.
As the RCN’s Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager you’ll be our subject matter expert on everything health, safety and wellbeing for our staff and those coming into contact with the RCN’s services and premises, across the UK.
You will be responsible for ensuring the RCN is compliant with current health and safety legislation through its policies and practices, and be RCN adviser on all aspects of health, safety and wellbeing associated with staff, visitors, contractors, customers including our members.
As well as providing advice and support to the Health and Safety Committee, reporting issues and matters to the Committee and the Executive Team to enable informed decisions to be made, you’ll lead on developing and maintaining a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture across the whole organisation.
To join us you’ll need NEBOSH Level 6 qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent with strong contemporary knowledge and understanding of the physical and psychological risks of an office working environment. You will need detailed knowledge, and keep up to date with, Health, Safety and wellbeing legislation and requirements and best practice.
An excellent communicator, relationship builder, with the ability to lead change by influencing, negotiating and encouraging discussion with key stakeholders, you’ll be experienced in leading and enhancing health and safety and staff wellbeing,
To succeed at the Royal College of Nursing all you need to do is think bigger, better and brighter. And with an attitude like that, anything’s possible.
