Could you lead and deliver a university-wide asbestos advice service, and contribute to its wider health & safety? The University of Reading’s H&S Services team needs an experienced professional to support good management of asbestos. You will maintain the University’s Asbestos Management Plan and the Asbestos Register. You will provide training and advice to staff on asbestos and other estates-related topics, including management of contractors, permit-to work, isolations, confined spaces, and events on the University estate. This post would suit an asbestos specialist looking to significantly develop their wider H&S expertise or a general H&S professional with relevant asbestos experience.

You will have:

•    Experience in asbestos control
•    Knowledge of UK H&S legislation
•    The ability to clearly communicate with staff across the University
•    A genuine commitment to occupational health & safety and to contributing to a team serving a large organisation with a varied set of hazards
