An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Shift Safety Manager to join our team. Working within the Safety, Health and Environment (S.H.E.) department, the successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, implementation and monitoring of the Safety, Health and Environment vision, policies and procedures. This includes ownership of accepted safety management and loss prevention principles, ensuring that the business, its employees and the environment are protected, the business is compliant and meets relevant legislation and industry standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide professional partnerships within the business to analyse S.H.E. concerns and promote initiatives to assist in the reduction of accidents and environmental improvements.
- Working to support the S.H.E. culture and values and contribute towards the continual improvement within HPUK.
- Attend serious incidents, investigate the causes and prepare reports which identifies the root causes.
- Carry out and manage COSHH assessments, and make recommendations for control of exposure to hazardous substances.
- Monitor and approve PPE, hazardous substances, plant and equipment used by the Port in consideration of the relevant legislation in each case.
Who are we looking for?
- Hold or be capable of obtaining (within 24 months of appointment) a NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or degree in health and safety or related subject or an NVQ Level 6 Safety qualification.
- Hold or be capable of obtaining a NEBOSH Environment Certificate, IEMA certificate or other agreed Environment qualification
- Hold or be capable of obtaining an internal auditor qualification for ISO14001 and ISO45001
- Project management experience
- Full UK Driving License (both manual and automatic)
