Irwin and Colton have been engaged by a UK-leading infrastructure contractor to recruit a Senior Health and Safety advisor for a long-term project in the Coventry area. The organisation works on a range of the UKs largest infrastructure projects, and this role will play an essential role in continuing the successful delivery of Health and Safety across the project.

This role will focus on the utilities portion of the project therefore it is essential that applicants have had direct experience working with utilities previously, it would also be beneficial if applicants have had previous experince working with major civils schemes too.

Responsibilities of the Senior Health and Safety Advisor will include:

• Implementing health and safety policies and procedures on site, ensuring compliance, and keeping updated with key changes to legislation
• Visiting site and engaging with managers, ensuring responsibilities are clear and answering technical Health and Safety related enquires
• Conducting audits, inspections, and accident investigations. Constantly seeking areas for improvement and development in health and safety performance
• Engaging with the client and other external stakeholders, acting as a key point of contact

The successful Senior Health and Safety Advisor will have:

• Experience in a similar role ideally within construction, Utilities or Civil Engineering.
• Hold a NEBOSH Certificate and ideally a member of IOSH
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Good communication skills with the ability to communicate with a broad range of stakeholders
