Overview:

The London Borough of Harrow is currently recruiting for a Building Safety & Compliance Manager to oversee the 6 Housing compliance areas, ensuring building safety in line with current legislation. The post holder will ensure best practice is followed for all statutory compliance areas for the Council’s social housing stock. Harrow currently has 2 high-rise blocks and a stock size of approximately 6,000.

About you:

The successful candidate will have:

• Chartered member of a professional organisation such as IOSH and evidence of ongoing CPD in Health & Safety.

• Health and Safety degree, National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or the equivalent.

• Knowledge of relevant codes and guidance, and practical control of sites and the work that takes place on them, buildings under construction or during occupation.

• Extensive understanding of statutory regulations relating to Housing, construction and buildings. 

• Ability to lead, motivate, performance manage and develop the team.

• Experience of Health and Safety management and auditing.

• Experience of Board/Committee report writing and presentation

• Analytical and logical thinking skills with the ability to operate at both a strategic and operational level.
