Overview

The London Borough of Harrow is looking for a Health, Safety & Compliance Manager to lead the Council's response to its statutory and regulatory compliance and customer safety obligations. This role is responsible for supporting and advising on the delivery of safety management processes with key priority obligations in relation to the council services such as Housing, Sheltered Housing schemes, Schools, Children Centres, Corporate buildings, Children Centres, Adult Day Centres, etc. The Council has a large Housing portfolio and knowledge and experience around high-risk buildings, especially around building compliance is essential. This also includes knowledge and experience in building maintenance and repair in accordance with the requirements of the Building Safety Act.

About you:

The successful applicant will:

• Be a member of a professional organisation such as IOSH/CIEH or equivalent, and evidence of ongoing CPD in Health & Safety

• Hold a Health and Safety degree, National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or the equivalent.

• Be a Chartered Member of the Institute of Safety and Health (CMIOSH)

• Have extensive and up-to-date knowledge of Health and Safety legislation including Housing and Building Safety compliance

• Have experience of Health and Safety management and auditing

• Be computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
