The Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team has two vacancies in the Construction and Field Operations Team, one permanent, one a 23-month fixed term role. There are two roles available, one is permanent, and the other is fixed term for 23 months.

The team

As part of a wider Health, Safety and Wellbeing team, we work with colleagues who manage our assets (eg flood defences) and our supply chain to develop standards for our work and provide expert technical advice to ensure we keep everyone safe and well. We undertake extensive programmes of audits and assurance to ensure standards are followed. If something goes wrong, we provide technical support for reviews with lessons embedded into standards to prevent reoccurrence.

Additional qualifications such as NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety are desirable.

Your skills and abilities in building rapport with your customers and peers, through clear and persuasive communication (both oral and written) is a vital attribute. You will be comfortable reviewing and improving our ways of working to enable a consistent understanding and application of H&S legislation and best practice in design, planning and construction delivery.

Experience of developing, managing and leading audit and monitoring activities is preferred.
