We are looking for an experienced health and safety practitioner to join us in this new role as we strengthen our health and safety provision in Herefordshire Council.
Keeping our staff safe and well is our number one priority and this role will lead a small team of experienced health and safety professionals to help us improve our health and safety culture across all parts of the council. This is a varied job which will involve making sure we have the right systems in place to keep our staff safe, ensuring members and senior leaders are well briefed and making sure our staff are well trained.
To be successful you will be an experienced H&S practitioner with the experience or potential to lead and manage other professionals. You must have the ability to work on your own initiative, a practical and proportionate approach and the ability to work collaboratively with others to solve problems. Your health and safety credentials will be a given and the ability to implement change and make ideas happen is essential!
In return you will be given the support and freedom to put your ideas into practice. The council has strong health and safety leadership from the top and this is a great opportunity to take a lead and make a difference.
The council offers 25 days holiday rising to 30 days after 5 years’ service, a superb pension scheme, annual leave purchase scheme, staff benefits portal, flexible hours and location, on site canteen, strong wellbeing offer and professional development.
