Your new role
In your new role your day to day tasks may include anything from investigating accidents/incidents, actively contributing to developing the management system, working closely with senior leadership teams to influence safety, ensuring compliance with legislation & regulations, reviewing and completing risk assessments, preparing reports, delivering and developing training programmes and promoting positive H&S culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement Corporate Health and Safety management systems for health and safety in line with statutory obligations and best practice. Assist in the development of these systems as required by the Head of Corporate Safety.
  • To deliver active monitoring and other services including, but not limited to, health and safety compliance audits, inspections, sampling, and occasional project work.
  • To produce and deliver written reports to managers.
  • To provide reactive monitoring in activities such as accident investigation, gathering evidence and reactive sampling.
  • Develop practical initiatives to promote a risk management culture and assist management and staff in best practice. Ensure local procedures and guidance are aligned to the corporate health and safety management system, reviewed, and effectively communicated.


What you'll need to succeed
You will need to hold a NEBOSH certification and CMIOSH qualification or working towards. Ideally you will have experience of working within the construction, building maintenance or highways environments, and local government in completing fire risk assessments and extensive experience in delivering engaging and informative training. You will need to have excellent communication skills, be an effective team player with an adaptable approach enabling you to build strong and lasting relationships with a range of people.
