We are currently expanding our Building Safety Team and seek a dynamic and experienced safety professional who is passionate about housing and the safety of residents living in our community. You will be supported by a range of building safety, compliance and fire safety professionals to ensure the delivery of the highest standards of safety across housing portfolios and to drive the safer futures initiative. As the Building Safety Adviser you will be reporting directly to the Building Safety Manager and working closely with colleagues across all parts of the Housing Services, the wider council teams and its partners. You will be responsible for a portfolio of high rise residential buildings and engage with residents, local councillors and other stakeholders on implementing requirements of new safety legislation across the board.

You will have experience of working in a health and safety environment within a local authority or similar organisation and will be able to advise key stakeholders and interpret a range of complex health and safety issues in relation to residential buildings.

We offer hybrid working providing you with the flexibility to work from home and, in our offices in Hackney Central, whilst managing your own workload around site visits.

You will have a NEBOSH General/Construction/Fire Certificate or NVQ Level 5 in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent. You will also be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check, which is a requirement of the role.
