Company: Manufacturing Company – 140 staff
Role: Health, Safety and Environment Manager
Based in Rotherham
Reporting in to the General Manager
Salary: £50,000 per annum + package (standard)
 
Overview:
The development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of the company’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies, processes, and procedures.
Ensuring best practice and championing a continually improving HSE culture within the business covering sites based in the UK (3 sites: 1 warehouse, 1 manufacturing and 1 showroom) .
Engaging and influencing key stakeholders both within and outside the business this HSE role includes liaising with and reporting, where required, to external regulatory bodies and ensuring we maintain high levels of compliance to both customer, internal and regulatory requirements. 
A sound working knowledge of Environmental and Health & Safety legislation and an excellent compliance record is vital.
 
Key Responsibilities;
 
  • This position has a stronger focus on HSE, liaising with departments to ensure HSE requirements are maintained
  • Operational site & premises support, inspections, and auditing
  • Internal HSE audits are planned and the schedule is maintained
  • Completion of risk assessments
  • Employee communication, education, and training
  • Support and develop policies and procedures to effectively manage HSE risks and opportunities
  • Manage and maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 9001
  • Accident and incident investigation, analysis, and reporting
  • Coordinating accident and incident management follow-up processes
  • Compiling and updating all onsite documentation
  • Ensuring statutory and internal reporting is undertaken in a timely and accurate manner
  • Be an exemplar to the HSE processes and become a driver for best practice and improvement
  • Providing support to all areas of the business to eliminate, mitigate or reduce identified exposures whilst managing change within HSE at all levels of the business

Essential Experience, Qualifications and Education;
  • NEBOSH Certificate as a minimum, ideally NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous manufacturing sector experience as a HSE professional
  • Proven track record in similar managerial role
  • Management of HSE management systems
  • Up to date knowledge of ISO certification process
  • Experience of reporting and liaising with relevant stakeholders
  • Demonstrable evidence of driving and improving change
  • Excellent communication skills on all levels
  • Eye for detail and a results driven approach
  • Ability to work under pressure and to defined deadlines
  • People skills including managing and leading teams
