Full Time

If you're an experienced Health and Safety professional with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for engaging and supporting others on a journey of continuous improvement, you could be the perfect person to take on the role of Health and Safety Advisor within Education Operations on the Island of Guernsey.

Guernsey is a Channel Island nestled between England and France, boasting an enviable work-life balance. No more motorways, trains and long commutes. With a population of just over 63,000, the island’s community is a welcoming one and crime rates are reassuringly low. Our sweeping coastlines, seafront town centre and more relaxed way of life make Guernsey a truly beautiful place to call home. And, with regular flights and ferries to the UK, you won’t be too far away from family and friends.

This senior role within Guernsey’s government is interesting, varied and rewarding, and involves ensuring that appropriate safety management systems are in place, and that staff can understand and take ownership of their respective Health and Safety responsibilities. It offers an opportunity not only to deliver positive benefits for service users, but also for personal and professional development.

The scope of the role extends across all business units under the direct control of the Committee for Education, Sport & Culture, among which are schools, support services, museums, ancient monuments, a leisure centre and an archives service. You'll also be part of a group of committed and dedicated individuals working in this area across the States of Guernsey, so there may be opportunities for cross-Committee working.
