We have an exciting opportunity to make a difference in construction, influencing major projects through design to construction phase. A national and multi-disciplinary consultancy are looking for an experienced CDM and Construction Health & Safety Consultant to manage and grow an upcoming region for their H&S Advisory team around Manchester and Leeds. You will have exposure to a wide range of projects delivering Construction Health & Safety, Principal Designer and CDM Advisory services. You will be given ownership to coordinate and manage the business' goals in the Northern Region and become part of a business who have a reputation for delivering a high-quality service to clients, adding true value to the client.

The role of the Associate Health & Safety / CDM Consultant will be to:

  • Ensure projects comply with CDM 2015, this is through involvement throughout design and influencing the project team to eliminate risk through design
  • Manage and grow the Northern region's Health & Safety Advisory offering
  • Carry out full Principal Designer duties under the CDM regulations 2015, including chairing Design Team Meetings & full Design Risk Management compliance
  • Attend construction sites to complete Health & Safety inspections and audits, reporting to the client
  • Work with the multi discipline and BD team in the region. It is expected this role will lead on projects, fee proposals and client engagement


The successful Associate Health & Safety / CDM Consultant will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years' practical experience providing dedicated Principal Designer, ex-CDM Co-ordinator and Health & Safety Advisor/Consultant services within the construction industry
  • A NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety, or equivalent
  • Recognised membership of a relevant organisation i.e. IMaPS/CMaPS, GradIOSH/CMIOSH and/or IEng/CEng, RIBA or equivalent
  • Astute commercial awareness and proven capability of managing major projects / clients
  • A degree in a Construction, Design, Engineering, Building Surveying or Building Services discipline related subject would be desirable
