Salary Circa £70,000 plus £8,000 car allowance, excellent benefits and bonus

Irwin & Colton have been engaged by a leading waste and recycling organisation to recruit a European Head of Safety, Health, Environment & Quality. Forming part of the Leadership team, this role will lead on Safety, Health, Environment & Quality across all UK and European operations.

Covering multiple sites, with an element of home working, this is an excellent opportunity to become part of a global organisation.

Responsibilities for the European Head of Safety, Health, Environment & Quality will include:

• Leading and developing a team of experienced SHEQ professionals on the development and execution of the SHEQ strategy across the organisation
• Developing, implementing and promoting new initiatives to increase health and safety performance and understanding across the business
• Overall responsibility for the ongoing maintenance and development of the integrated ISO standards and accreditation
• Engaging with key stakeholders across the business, including working with the Board of Directors to continue to drive a positive safety culture

The successful European Head of Safety, Health, Environment & Quality will have:

• Proven experience in a similar health and safety leadership role from within a multi-site waste, recycling, heavy industrial or similar environment
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent and membership of IOSH or other relevant professional body (ideally Chartered or working towards)
• Strong knowledge of creating and implementing health and safety strategies and the ability to communicate and engage with a wide range of stakeholders across the business
