Head of Fire Safety

Shirley Parsons are exclusively partnered with a leading Education establishment that have an opening for a Head of Fire Safety. The role is based in London and will suit candidates with an engaging approach and the ability to operate at a strategic level. The Head of Fire Safety will be expected to occasionally perform operational responsibilities however the focus of this role is to implement and deliver the fire safety strategic vision for the organisation. This role will suit someone who is systems and governance focussed with experience in developing and auditing risk management systems against standards such as BS 9997 or BS ISO 45001.  

The Head of Fire Safety will be responsible for:

• Develop, implement and manage the organisation's Fire Safety policies and procedures
• Create high level reports regarding fire safety performance and present these to the leadership team
• Ensure fire safety strategy is effectively delivered across a complex estate
• Provide proactive expert fire safety advice to the leadership team 

The successful Head of Fire Safety will have:

• IFE Level 4 Fire Safety certificate or equivalent; registered with IFE or equivalent body
• A minimum of five years experience in senior Fire Safety roles
• Knowledge and experience of British Standards Codes and Building Regulation (BS-9999)
• Experience in the education sector or complex environments
