Shirley Parsons are exclusively partnered with a leading Education establishment that have an opening for an Head of Occupational Health. This role will see the successful candidate act as the organisation's competent person for occupational health. The role is based in London and will suit candidates with an engaging approach and the ability to operate at a strategic level. The Head of Occupational Health will be expected to occasionally perform operational responsibilities however the focus of this role is to implement and deliver the occupational health strategic vision for the organisation. 

 

The Head of Occupational Health will be responsible for:

  • Building close collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders such as the Health and Safety team, HR and OH providers
  • The strategic development of the organisation’s framework and arrangements for the prevention and management of work and study related ill-health in consultation with key stakeholders
  • Developing toolkits for monitoring and regular reporting on health risk management performance
  • Investigate work-related ill-health reports, adverse health surveillance outcomes and OH Management Referrals 

The successful Head of Occupational Health will have:

  • A degree or diploma in health ergonomics/human factors, occupational health and safety, or similar 
  • Expert knowledge of occupational health, including mental health and wellbeing
  • Previous experience of delivering competent occupational health advice in the education sector or similar complex environments
  • Previously developed policies, procedures and systems on health risks within the workplace
