The Opportunity
At Monaghan an exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 enthusiastic and proactive Health and Safety Advisors to join our team in the UK and Ireland.
We are offering a permanent senior advisor role in the UK based in either Langford, North Somerset or Whitley, East Yorkshire which will support our UK businesses. We are also offering a 12 month fixed term contract safety advisor role based in Co. Monaghan, Ireland.
This successful candidates will be responsible for advising and guiding the Safety and Environment function by leading a cross business plan to ensure the compliance of Monaghan Sites with regulatory requirements in each jurisdiction as well as implementation of best practice approach.
What you will be responsible for:
- Proactively advise each site management team on:
- Achieving required performance standards for Health, Safety and Environment KPIs and provide monthly reports to the Group Operational Risk Manager
- Completion of Risk Assessments including those associated with Fire Risk
- Delivery and completion of internal Health and Safety Training
- Implementing and auditing relevant compliance systems
- Support each site management team by ensuring each takes cognizance of our Health and Safety responsibilities and ensuring the consistent implementation of the Group Health and Safety Policy
- Co-ordinate and manage a programme of risk assessments and Health and Safety Audits
- Work to minimise operational losses, occupational health problems, accidents and injuries across all sites
To be successful you will have:
- A qualification in environmental health, quality, Health and Safety or a related discipline
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience in influencing management teams on Health, Safety and Environment related issues and knowledge of relevant Regulations in their respective regions
- A full driving license and the ability to travel routinely to other Monaghan sites
- A NEBOSH Certificate is not essential but is advantageous
