Salary Range: £58,911 - £59,988

Hackney Council is passionate about its housing stock, and committed to continue to maintain and enhance its homes and estates in both the short term and into the future.  Fire safety and health and safety within our housing stock is a main priority and we are looking for a person to further improve safety for residents.  With the introduction of the new Fire Safety Legislation this is going to be a challenging and exciting time and we want a professional and enthusiastic person to join our already successful team.

The key responsibilities of the Building Safety Manager role include developing and maintaining our tenant and occupier focused service delivery of Asset Management functions, ensuring both the highest quality and compliance with legislation, policy and best practice

Ensuring statutory compliance is managed and monitored effectively, taking a solution focused approach, removing risk where possible and identifying and implementing mitigation where complete removal is not possible.

Promoting compliance and building safety requirements and identifying training needs throughout the service areas. Working closely with other teams to ensure all required information is captured.

The successful candidate for the role of Building Safety Manager will have extensive experience of successfully managing a compliance and/or building safety team, being responsible for managing risk.

Housing sector knowledge in relation to building and construction matters including compliance and relevant legislation.

The ability to understand and analyse various reports to provide accurate and relevant advice to a range of people, including the Head of Resident Safety, external legislative bodies and relevant boards and committees.

What we are looking for is a qualified and experienced professional, well versed in current best practice, who can find innovative answers to a range of issues and have a strong track record of delivery.
