The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is looking to appoint a CDM Projects Support Officer / Principle Designer. This role falls within the Capital Investment team who have a supportive, friendly culture which in turn provides a comfortable working environment.
Your new role
Your role as CDM Projects Support Officer / Principle Designer is to develop robust systems for ensuring Housing Managements are compliant with the CDM regulations. You’ll be a key player within the Capital Investment teams supporting delivery of £250 million investment programme. You will work alongside various departments embedding standards and maintaining reasonable assurance of RBKC contractors, and consultants including appointed Principal Designers. You will be required to prepare, assist and scrutinise the Health & Safety File as required by the regulations and where appropriate, assist in the compilation of the Health and Safety File, manage systems and progress charts. You will provide subject matter expertise and regulatory advice to our front-line project managers, assistant project managers and procurement officers.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have thorough knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations, experience of accident investigations and experience of carrying out site inspections. Alongside this you will have strong communications skills to build relationships, problem solving skills and an ability to negotiate and influence.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Occupational Health & Safety and Health or similar
- Minimum NEBOSH Construction Certificate, but ideally you will be of GradIOSH or CMIOSH level with a proven track record in a CDM/PD related position.
