Resident Safety Projects Coordinator
Hackney Council is looking to recruit a Resident Safety Project Coordinator to manage and coordinate work in relation to new and existing resident safety related projects taking place in Hackney owned residential properties. The projects either introduce an element of risk to the lives of our residents or they are aimed at ever improving the safety of our buildings.
The role will cover various aspects of health and safety management in regards to those projects, including managing relationships with contractors and their sub-contractors, coordinating the internal approval of designs, wayleaves, and leases, assessing RAMS, arranging access for surveys, maintenance and installations. The postholder will be the key point of contact within the Council for all matters related to those projects. The postholder will work closely with teams across Housing Services, with Legal Services, and with the Council’s specialist agents.
This role will also involve occasional meetings with residents, tenant managed organisations and councillors.
The main responsibilities involved in this role include the provision of coordination and support in the management of health and safety in projects ranging from (but not limited to): the roll out of mobile telephony infrastructure and fibre optic broadband installations, coordination of building safety signage installations, and upgrades to Premises Information Boxes. For the right candidate there will be an opportunity to also be involved in other interesting projects related to improving buildings and residents safety.
The purpose of this role is to ensure that any relevant works carried out to Hackney’s residential buildings are completed to a high standard and all relevant building safety information is kept up to date. The post holder will be the main point of contact within the Council for telecoms and broadband operators as well as the main liaison between installers of safety signs and all other internal stakeholders.
We are looking for a qualified health and safety professional with additional knowledge of project management, and ideally with experience of either fire safety/telecoms/broadband/electrical cabling installations. The postholder will need to be an independent team player who can proactively coordinate tasks between internal and external stakeholders and manage workloads effectively.
