Safety, Health, Environment and Compliance Manager

HTS (Property & Environment) Ltd provides housing repairs & maintenance and environmental services for the tenants and residents of Harlow.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for overseeing Safety, Health, Environment and Compliance (SHEC) within the HTS Group and Managing the SHEC team. You will provide strategic advice to shape a safe and compliant working culture throughout the organisation, so you need to be aware of all current and developing SHEC legislation and good practice. You will lead and provide guidance to all levels of staff in safety, health, environmental and compliance matters.

Therefore, you will be required to liaise with employees at all levels, our client (Harlow Council), contractors and, where necessary, also residents and public.

You will work with the operations team to ensure that safe practice is embedded in all activities. You will be responsible for the management of the inspections, monitoring and reporting regimes and providing management report data to the senior management team and attend regular SHEC meetings; Good IT skills (including Microsoft Office) are essential. You will also ensure that training and awareness exercises are carried out regularly and monitored.

It is essential that you have experience of working in similar industry and that you are a Chartered Health and Safety professional. You are required to hold a full valid UK driving licence and be flexible with your working hours to meet demands of the business.

Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm; benefits include car allowance, 33 days` annual leave plus bank holidays and Local Government Pension Scheme.
