An engaging Part-Time Health, Safety & Security Advisor to join a historic property trust in Portsmouth.

Your new company

My client are a historic property trust in Hampshire who I am pleased to work with again, having successfully supported the organisation in the past.

Your new role

This is a rare permanent, part-time opportunity to join an established business who preserve a fantastic historic area of the city.

Purpose of the role:
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive, you will be the lead on health and safety for the trust; delivering the internal health and safety agenda, representing the trust to tenants and other stakeholders and ensuring that the trust meets its statutory responsibilities. You will also represent the organisation in relation to security and counter-terrorism matters within and outside the site.

Subject to capacity, you will work with the Deputy Chief Executive to implement projects relating to the environmental sustainability and other special projects. This post will be supported at junior level and the role includes ongoing training of colleagues in different parts of the business.

Working hours are part-time, 22.5 hours/week over 4 days (preferred), but these hours over 3-5 days will also be considered. You would work from home 2 days/week and in the office 2 days/week, but some flexibility around which days these are could be required for meetings etc.

What you'll need to succeed

You must have a NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate, or be a Member of IOSH (Tech or above), with 2 years+ experience in a similar Health and Safety role.

Although my client are flexible on background, the ideal candidate will have experience of property maintenance / FM or construction, having worked in a public-facing / visitor attraction context. Knowledge of training and environmental sustainability will also be an advantage in this role.

What you'll get in return

You will receive a salary between £32,000-£37,000 FTE (£19,200-£22,200 based on 22.5 hours).

Other benefits include 25 days holiday + BH's (increasing after 5 years' service), 4% pension matched, free parking, life assurance (2 x salary for death in service), income protection cover and health screening.
