Summary

Implements programs for the UK rail business that satisfy safety standards and legislative requirements. Supports Environment and Quality Assurance management systems.  

The Main Responsibilities

Assist in the co-ordination of activities to meet compliance with UK Health & Safety Legislation. Assist and support Senior Safety Health and Environment Manager in respect of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Management Systems for Europe.

Maintain documentation and inspection regimen in order to ensure Lumen meets the requirements for certification to International standards (ISO 45001).

Ensure that Lumen systems for Asbestos Management / Fire Risk Assessment / Display Screen Equipment are effectively discharged.

Act as the focal point for employees on health and safety issues. Provide education and training to staff and promote staff awareness in both general health safety.

Maintain the implementation of Lumen Environmental accreditation (ISO 14001) and Quality Assurance accreditation (ISO 9001).

Maintain documentation and inspection regimen in order to ensure Lumen meets statutory requirements within the United Kingdom.

Ensure internal and external audits are carried out in respect of SHE (Q) Management systems.

What We Look for in a Candidate

A safety professional (CMIOSH).

Experience in Rail sector audit protocols (RISQS).

Experience in IS Standards Management (Auditing).

Pragmatic and flexible approach.
