HSEQ Manager required for national sites | 1 day oxford based | Construction/Rail/Power


Your new company
The UK operation of a large american company are looking for a HSEQ Manager to take charge of all H&S on their projects situated nationwide. Partnering with some of the largest projects including HS2 and with companies such as The National Grid and Balfour Beatty this role will offer diversity as well as a supportive office to work from.

Your new role
This role is based out of Oxford 1 day a week with the other days travelling to visit their projects which could be situated anywhere from Scotland, Wales, East Coast to South Coast. Reporting into the Operations Director, your main task will be to develop the H&S function and make continuous improvement for the HSEQ standards and results. On a day to day you will be responsible for:

  • completing RAMS for specialist decommissioning or non-standard projects
  • continuous development of HSEQ management systems
  • identifying training needs
  • attending HSEQ meetings with clients and contractors
  • undertaking site audits
  • investigating HSEQ related incidents and establishing root causes and preventative measures
  • developing, implementing and maintaining ISO accreditation starting with ISO9001
  • assisting management in preparation of tenders relating to HSEQ


What you'll need to succeed
Due to the travelling nature of this role you must hold a valid UK Driving Licence. A recognised H&S qual such as the NEBOSH Certificate is essential and the NEBOSH Diploma would be even greater preferred. Health & Safety practical experience in the field of construction, rail or power is also essential. My client is ideally looking for someone who has a track record of developing and implementing ISO accreditation from scratch and can be equally boots on the ground.

What you'll get in return
On top of a salary of £50k you will also receive a company car. There is an annual leave entitlement of 23 days plus bank holidays which rises to 25 days with 3 years service. Pension is 6%.
