An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced safety professional to join a leading telecoms & utility business and take on the role of Head of SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality) the position will report into the MD and be responsible for the overall SHEQ team and implementation of strategy across the UK. The role is based in the Bristol region but will be responsible for all of the UK operations and be expected to travel when required. Telecoms or Utilities experience would be a distinct advantage in this position
The Role:
- Lead all SHEQ functions across the business with a lead role on implementation of strategy and working towards key milestones
- Implement, maintain and develop of the ISO management system
- Develop systems, policies and procedures to demonstrate best practice across the business
- Work closely with key business functions and provide advice when required ,
- To promote company values in all dealings with other employees, clients, subcontractors and other external contacts
- Continuous improvement and ensure their is a strong safety culture implemented across the business
- Key stakeholder engagement with regular meetings with MD and Board Level
- Responsible for the growth of the SHEQ team
The Candidate:
- 5 years+ experience working in Health & Safety
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
- CMIOSH or working towards
- Must have relevant Civil engineering, ideally within telecoms or utilities
- Proven track record in leading a team and implementing a SHEQ strategy
