More about your role

We're growing and developing all the time and given the widespread and extensive work we do across the whole property sector we require a Director of Property and Safety Compliance to lead our Group-wide approach to Health & Safety and wider compliance. You will embed and drive a strong safety culture across the Group and ensure a robust framework is in place in relation to all aspects of safety and compliance.

You will provide the Board and management with that assurance through an effective and comprehensive framework, by reviewing current arrangements and the effectiveness of processes and controls, and by ensuring that best practice is deployed consistently. You will measure and assess levels of compliance and challenge each Group company to improve the rigour applied to achieving its compliance targets. A key responsibility of this role is in contributing to the business by ensuring the effectiveness of the framework, driving the improvement of performance and customer service, meeting legal requirements and achieving its key strategic aims.

You will also act as thought leader and internal expert, you will strive to develop and deliver best practice in relation to safety, and in particular fire safety, taking into account the Group's diverse range of housing products and customers. You will need to be proactive and anticipate safety risk. This will involve identifying early warning signs, ensuring that these are considered by the Group, and backed-up with plans to mitigate safety risk where necessary.
