The University of Sheffield is seeking to appoint a successful and ambitious individual to the role of Director of Health and Safety. This key role represents an exciting opportunity for candidates with the ability to provide strong and effective leadership to the health and safety of the University community and to lead the Health and Safety team.

Operating with professional confidence, pragmatism and expertise, you will work with a diverse range of stakeholders, internally and externally, engaging them effectively in all aspects of the Health and Safety agenda.

You will act as the institutional expert in relation to Health and Safety and will be accountable for the implementation of an organisational strategy that is aligned with other strategic priorities of the institution.

You will ensure that the University meets all necessary legislative obligations whilst driving the continuous improvement of health, safety and environmental management. You must be pragmatic, enthusiastic and knowledgeable, with significant experience in a Health and Safety leadership role in a similarly large and complex organisation. In addition, you will have a proven track record of success in developing and delivering a strategic approach to health, safety and wellbeing; a strategic mind-set, and demonstrable experience of leading and motivating teams.
